![]() I'd also record audio from Maschine to the host or drag & drop it there or freeze Maschine instances. I could keep on using the controller and I'd only sequence the Maschine scenes in Cubase via midi parts. I'd write the music in Maschine as I have my samples and plug-in mappings already organised in there. However, Cubase is much more comprehensive, so it's only natural that it has some areas, in which it's not as stream-lined as Live.Ībout using Cubase with Maschine - I wouldn't use it any other way like I use Maschine in Live (as we've talked about it earlier), i.e. Back in 2005 I had switched to Live 5, though, as it was much faster and I think it still is, if you just want to write some music. A couple of months ago I got a bundled version of Cubase AI 8 and I felt right at home. have been a long time Cubase user (from VST3.5, VST5 over to SX1,2,3 & Cubase 4) and I had decided for it, because I felt getting started in Logic was too tedious back then - so I get your sentiment. ![]() What are the features that you most enjoy about your DAW and why? My questions for more experienced users are:ġ) How do you integrate Maschine to your Cubase workflow?ģ) What is your preferred method for syncing versions (via the cloud/internet) with other collaborators and why?Īlso, out of curiosity, as every DAW has its strengths, my question to users of other DAWs are: I'm only a couple of weeks into learning it so tons more to learn, but so far so good, and as far as I can tell, it can pretty much do anything required. Granted, there are some glitches to work out (it likes to have control of all the drivers for the sound, and resets my sound card levels to max so I need to watch my speaker levels), but so far I really love it. I'm very inspired by the consistency and intuitiveness of the DAW so far. Much to my surprise, I tried out Cubase elements and liked it enough to purchase the Artist package. ![]() We tried syncing via Ableton Live (a secondary DAW to both of us, and used for lives), but he wasn't comfortable enough with the program compared to Cubase. I was feeding him audio clips from Maschine and, while the sounds where inspiring him, the tediousness of the workflow wasn't. Long story short, I was working on a new project / long term collaboration with someone who uses Cubase as the centre piece of his studio. Ironically, Cubase was the first real DAW I ever heard about, but never dived in, and thought that the last thing I needed to learn was yet another DAW. Logic didn't feel as intuitive as I would have liked, and Ableton's way of editing audio didn't do it for me either. I've been using Logic and Ableton Live for several years, but never really felt 100 % at ease with either of them. I'd be curious to get a sense of who on here uses Cubase, and the advantages of Cubase versus other DAWs (and vice versa)? I'm starting this thread for Maschine users who have Cubase as their DAW of choice.
